The 27: Feel-good vintage vibes approved by Beyoncé.
It doesn’t take a hipster to know that vintage is cool. Enter The 27 clad in floral print, striding beflared onto the stage to woo all with their neo-60s sound – a sound sans synthesizer, autotune and ambivalence to musicianship – frontman Henry Parker’s lock-perfect mane the top item on every hippie’s wish list.
But, thankfully, there’s a lack of pretence about The 27 that comes through in their music, which is unprocessed and pleasant. The band – Henry Parker, David Page, Tom Michell – performed a couple of tracks for us ahead of the release of their third single Tell Me.
