Räthel & Wolf

Räthel & Wolf are German friends and jewellers, Sari Räthel is an ITS (International Talent Support) award winner, Ricarda Wolf her partner in design.

Their pieces are fashioned on the body, crafted to mould against the skin in new ways, new places: “Our jewellery is not aimed at any gender; it’s about how the object sits on the body, any body.” This philosophy garners a multifaceted approach in application – bijouterie that can be worn flexibly, that can be shared between lovers, that conforms to contours and not to stereotypes. They toy with ideas of identity, their creations, in polished silver and black rhodium, engender a sense of play – rings that hang from the un-pierced ear, rings that accentuate the nail, rings that entwine the palm. In September 2017 they launched their first fifteen-piece collection, crafted to present jewellery in new ways, with new faces: artists were invited to read, perform and exhibit on fluidity in identity, fluidity in body; in so doing, Räthel & Wolf confirmed where their collection sits in context – jewellery made to provoke, to adorn, to share.
