Campaigns modelling for Tommy Hilfiger, Pepe Jeans and Topman notwithstanding, Darius Trabalza is a pretty down-to-earth, normal guy.
The young model and skater is also enjoying success as the entrepreneur behind new brand Yardsale. Nevertheless, he is humble, relaxed and easy going. Three and a half years ago Darius and his childhood friend Daniel Kreitem set out to make a brand new skate brand, which would fuse "new London with old LA". Darius now promotes the brand through "saucy" skate videos and has a hand in the design. Each video has a "chilled-out, sexy vibe" and racks in 27,000 views on YouTube. And the clothing on the website sells. "First we made a couple T-shirts and now we have a full 40-piece line coming out.” The brand has enjoyed successful collaborations with workwear brand Dickies (a classic not-meant-for-skate skate brand) that completely sold out. Yardsale is promoting street skating in a way that brings creativity to the viewer as it takes skill to skate but it takes steez to skate street. "We are just trying to make the best videos and skateboard gear our own way," says Darius.
