North: Identity, Photography, Fashion is an exhibition at Liverpool’s Open Eye gallery.
Curated by writer Lou Stoppard and academic Adam Murray, North gathers photographs, artworks and fashion collections to explores depictions of the region, its familiar cultural tropes and themes. On display is work from fashion photographers including James Hawkesworth, Alasdair McLellan and Nick Knight. Prints from Glen Luchford’s first ever shoot, a session for the Stone Roses for The Face magazine in 1989, are also on display, alongside garments from Raf Simons (a parka now valued at $20,000), New Power Studio and Christopher Shannon. Archive shoes by adidas, who sponsor, also feature. Showstudio presents interviews with local talent, including Simon Foxton, Stephen Jones and Claire Barrow.
