The rags-to-riches story of Brash Young Turks is mirrored in the behind-the-scenes making of the film. “We didn’t have a huge budget, but when you have a huge vision, you have to hustle. Producers have seen the film and valued the final production at £1 million, which is insane. We filmed at Notting Hill Carnival, at Heron Tower, we had Ferraris in the film.” Naeem Mahmood (director) tells his stories of hustling with life-affirming gusto. “To get permission to film at Sushi Samba, I got dressed up—because you have to be dressed a certain way to even get in—and I turned up and asked to speak to the manager, and got him onside. Face-to-face is key to hustling. It's all about showing your energy.”

The full story can be read in the main magazine. But Jess interviewed the cast and director at the photo shoot, 42 stories up opposite Liverpool Street Station in Sushi Samba. You can watch that right here!
